Explore various payment avenues for settling your account

We expect payment at the time of your appointment

You can pay by cash, EFTPOS, cheque, MasterCard or Visa. You can now pay online using Medeor Pay by Link.

Medeor Pay simplifies payments: receive a link via email or SMS, pay instantly or in advance of your appointment from your device, and your payment is seamlessly recorded in our system. Ensure we have your correct mobile number and email address to receive these notificaitons.

 

Difficulty paying account

If you are having difficulties paying an account, please contact our accounts department on 04 389 9955 or email accounts@newtownmc.co.nz. It is possible to pay accounts in small manageable automatic payments and there may be other ways we can help.

If your account is unpaid at the end of the month and you haven’t made any payment arrangements with us, we will:

  • ask you to pay before you see a doctor or nurse for all appointments

  • reserve the right to review your enrolment with Newtown Medical Centre

This policy forms part of the Newtown Medical Centre enrolment process, compliance with this policy is mandatory.

We display copies of our fees and accounts policy in the waiting area.


Patient Did Not Attend (DNA) Procedure

Patients who fail to attend for appointments they have booked cause unnecessary work, but more seriously, hold an appointment slot which could be offered to other patients. This not only results in potentially denying another patients access, but also results in lost revenue where that appointment time cannot be reallocated.

If a patient does not arrive within their allocated 15-minute appointment slot they will be marked as a DNA on the appointment template in our system and will incur a fee as a missed appointment. If a patient is more than 7 minutes late, they will be asked by reception to reschedule the appointment.

We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm for you to pay at reception.

Please make sure you add your chart number to your payment details so that we can credit your account with the payment.

We can also take your payment over the phone if you have a Debit or Credit Card.


Conditions of payment

Consultation fees are indicative for standard consultations up to 15 minutes. We reserve the right to charge an additional fee for longer consultations. Our policy is 1 person per appointment.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us to cancel. We reserve the right to charge a non-attendance fee up to the full cost of your appointment.

If you are unable to attend your consultation at least 1 hours’ notice must be given. Failure to do this will incur a penalty charge.
